I create art as a response to nature’s form, color, texture and pattern that I encounter in everyday life. My camera is my viewfinder, the opportunity to search for details, to capture an image, to focus my eye, and to develop my visual catalogue.

PRINTMAKING allows me to explore, to experiment, and to invent my personal art form through both process and product. The process, be it carving or etching or other method is an act of creating a unique piece of art. The product may result in the unexpected, a mystery or surprise.

COLLAGRAPH, my most recent endeavor in printmaking, allows a wonderful interplay of mixed-media application. This printmaking technique continues to expand my experience, and allow for experimentation, to build layer upon layer, to include intaglio, chine colle, and A la Poupe`e.

The body of my work strives to portray the essence and core of life, hence the recurring motifs of organic shapes found in nature and common to all of life.
