I make art because it allows me to use many of my senses. Innately curious, I try different combinations of media, solving problems presented as I go along.
In printmaking, I combine traditional methods including etching and aquatint and more contemporary methods such as ImageOn and Solarplate. I often use my photographs as a basis of a piece and then incorporate gold leaf and other organic materials. Whatever the media, I meld various images and make an integral piece. Many of my works are abstract compositions in which the colors and forms establish harmonious and balanced relationships.
At the core of my work is the constant experimentation. I do not feel that there is one “right” way to approach a work of art.
