I straddle a cultural fence. I’m a Mexican-American Jew. Then I lived abroad and added Norwegian to the mix. Do I belong here? Do I belong there? Am I this? Am I that? I could easily drift in confusion.

My solace and connection is the landscape and it’s colorful treasures. Years ago living on the fjords I collected wildflowers and passed the time observing and drawing them. Here in the desert I was drawn to prickly, thorny cacti. I realized I was doing the same thing in my current work that I was doing a long time ago. The flowers, the land was my connection to place and the people connected to those places. My artistic techniques are varied. Flora and landscape are the common thread.

As I’ve accepted that I am not one but many, that I belong nowhere and everywhere., I strive to interweave the elements together.
